2025年4月16日（水）、午前7時半ごろに起きた。午前9時に家を出て、弓道の練習に向かった。
今日の練習場所は、神奈川県立の武道館だ。この武道館は、県内最大クラスの弓道場を備える。平日、一般向けの稽古が開催されており、私はそれに参加した。
参加者はおよそ50人いて、ほとんどが年配の方だった。順に弓をひいていき、女性の先生が各参加者に指導をしていく。先生は気さくな方で、その影響なのか稽古の雰囲気はあまり堅苦しくなかった。参加者たちも私にたくさん話しかけてくれて、私としてはありがたく感じた。
私がここを最後に利用したのは10年以上前のことだ。当時と同様、開放感がある。建物は改修されて、1年ほど前に再オープンしたばかり。外観も内装もあまり変わっていないように、私の目には映ったが、参加者によると床暖房が導入されたという。
On Wednesday, April 16th, 2025, I got up around 7:30 a.m. and left home at 9:00 a.m. to practice Japanese archery.
Today, I practiced at a large Japanese archery dojo in a prefectural martial arts gym in Kanagawa. A public seminar was held there on a weekday, and I took part in it.
About 50 people, most of them elderly archers, took turns shooting, and a female instructor gave each participant individual advice. Surprisingly, the atmosphere wasn’t too formal, as the instructor was sociable. The attendees were also friendly toward me.
The last time I used that facility was more than ten years ago. The dojo still felt comfortable for shooting because of its openness, just like it did back then. The gym was renovated and reopened about a year ago. From what I saw today, the exterior and interior hadn’t changed much, but one of the attendees told me that underfloor heating had been installed.
