2025年4月12日（土）、朝起きて午前9時半に家を出た。友達と会うために、東京へ向かった。
今日会った友人は3人いる。そのうちの1人はバンクーバー在住のカナダ人。普段は現地で弓道をしており、今月は日本に来ている。名古屋で開催していた、弓道の講習会に参加するためだ。今日は東京をめぐり、自分の弓を買ったり、弓道場で練習したりする予定だった。
もう1人の友達は日本人で、去年バンクーバーで一緒に弓道をしていた仲間だ。その友人はいまは日本で暮らしており、東京で弓をひいている。今日練習に参加する場所は、彼の紹介によるものだ。その日本人の友人は、東京で一緒に練習している、アメリカ出身の人を今日紹介してくれた。
私たち4人は弓具店を巡り、カナダ出身の友人の弓探しに付き合った。結局、その人は「鵠心」という名前の弓を購入した。そのブランドは値が張るものの、そのカナダ人はその弓の美しさに心を奪われたようだった。
夕方、皆で弁当を食べてから、赤羽駅近くの弓道場で練習会に参加した。練習会の方々たちは私たちを、温かく迎えてくれた。
On Saturday, April 12th, 2025, I got up in the morning and left home at 9:30 a.m. to head to Tokyo to meet up with friends.
I met three people today. One of them is a Canadian who lives in Vancouver and practices Japanese archery there. She had attended a seminar about the martial art in Nagoya and was planning to buy her own bow in Tokyo and practice at a local dojo.
Another person I met today is Japanese. He used to practice Japanese archery in Vancouver with her and me last year. He invited us to the local dojo today. He also introduced us to another member of the local Japanese archery club, who is from the United States.
The four of us visited shops that sell Japanese archery equipment. She bought a high-end bow made of fiberglass and carbon fiber. Although the brand is more expensive than others, she seemed captivated by its remarkable beauty.
In the evening, we recharged by eating bento and joined a dojo near Akabane Station. The members of the local club welcomed us warmly.
