2025年5月7日（水）、午前8時ごろに起きた。一日中家にいた。
北米のアイスホッケーのリーグ、NHLではプレーオフが盛り上がっている。リーグ全体のいわばベスト4を決める、第2ラウンドの試合が昨日から始まった。
試合の生中継を見る手段がない私は、YouTubeでハイライトを確認している。今日のエドモントン・オイラーズ対ベガス・ゴールデンナイツの試合もそうだ。プレーオフに出ているチームに限って言えば、オイラーズを応援しており、今日勝ってくれてうれしかった。
オイラーズについて余談を1つ。昨日、このチームのTシャツを来ている人を見かけた。日本人らしき男性で、目撃場所は東京のある駅。NHLの知名度が低い日本において、オイラーズのロゴを目撃するのはかなり意外な出来事だった。
On Wednesday, May 7th, 2025, I got up around 8:00 a.m. and stayed home all day.
The Stanley Cup Playoffs this season began last month, and the second round started yesterday.
I don’t have a way to watch the games live on TV, so I watched highlights on YouTube, including today’s game between the Edmonton Oilers and the Vegas Golden Knights. Since I support the Oilers among all the teams in the playoffs, I was happy that they won today.
Even though the NHL isn’t popular in Japan, I saw a man in Tokyo yesterday wearing an Oilers T-shirt, which really surprised me.
