2025年5月9日（金）、午前10時に起きた。午前10時半ごろに家を出て、新宿駅へ向かった。
新宿での用事を済ませた後、そこから渋谷駅まで歩いた。途中、明治神宮の森に立ち寄った。
目に留まったのは、鳥居のそばにある2種類の木。1つは、白い花を咲かせたエゴノキだ。もう1つは、黄色い穂をたくさんつけた木で、名前は分からない。
森の地面を見ると、フタリシズカが目に入る。1本の穂が上に向かってのび、花らしき白い粒が間隔を空けながらついている。以前、屋久島の森でもフタリシズカを目撃したことがある。
On Friday, May 9th, 2025, I got up at 10:00 a.m. and left home around 10:30 a.m., heading to Shinjuku to run an errand.
After finishing what I needed to do in Shinjuku, I walked from there to Shibuya Station. While walking through the dense urban area of Tokyo, I visited the forest of Meiji Jingu Shrine.
Two species of trees near a torii gate in the forest caught my eye. One was a Japanese snowbell with white flowers. The other had yellow flower spikes, though I’m not sure of its name.
While looking near the ground in the forest, I found a small plant with a spike that appeared to bear what seemed to be white flowers. The plant is called Futarishizuka in Japanese, and I had seen it before in a forest on Yakushima Island.
