2025年5月11日（日）、午前6時半ごろに起きた。午前11時半ごろに家を出て、友人と二子玉川駅で待ち合わせた。
友人と私は二子玉川駅を出発し、仙川沿いを歩いた。寄り道もしつつ、最後に着いたのは三鷹駅だった。
川沿いの狭い歩道を歩いている途中、カワセミや柿といった動植物を目撃した。川沿いには公園が点在しており、そのうちの1つである祖師谷公園は地元の人々で賑わっていた。
上流部分では水量が非常に少なかった。水が消失している部分もあるほどだ。三鷹市のウェブサイトには、「治水の目的で河川改修されてから、上流部の湧水量は少なくなり」とある。
On Sunday, May 11th, 2025, I got up at 6:30 a.m. and left home around 11:30 a.m. to meet up with my friend.
He and I decided to walk from Futakotamagawa Station, a major station in Tokyo, because I had suggested that we walk along the Senkawa River.
Narrow sidewalks have been built on both sides of the riverbanks. We walked along the paths, observing birds and plants, such as a kingfisher with a turquoise-blue body and a Japanese persimmon tree with tiny bell-shaped flowers. There are several parks along the river. For example, Soshigaya Park was crowded with local residents today.
The amount of water in the upstream part of the river was very low. At one point, we even found a section where there was no water at all. According to the website of Mitaka City, the spring water in the upper reaches of the river decreased after river improvement work was carried out for flood control.
