2025年5月14日（水）、午前10時に起きた。夕方に家を出て、横浜市内の岸根公園へ出かけた。
岸根公園に立つタブノキは、実をつけ始めていた。緑色の小さな実だ。果柄は赤く、大変目立っていた。
園内の別の場所では、白く美しい花が咲いている。アジサイに似ているが、アジサイが美しくなるのは6月ごろのはず。さすがにまだ早いと思う。
スマートフォンのアプリに、この花の名前を聞いてみた。写真を基に植物の種類を教えてくれるこのアプリは、「ガマズミ」と答えた。私としては合っている気がするけれども、確信は持てない。アジサイとガマズミの違いを教えてくれる情報が、インターネット上にあまりなく、私は両者をどのように見分ければよいのか分からないからだ。
On Wednesday, May 14th, 2025, I got up at 10:00 a.m. and left home in the evening to visit Kishine Park in Yokohama.
The Tabunoki tree in the park had begun to grow tiny green fruits. Their red peduncles stood out among the other trees.
While walking, I came across some beautiful white flowers that resembled a hydrangea. However, it was clearly too early for hydrangeas to bloom, as their season is generally in June.
Based on a photo I took of the plant, a plant-identification app suggested it was Linden arrowwood. While that might be the case, I wasn’t fully convinced, as there wasn’t enough information to clearly tell it apart from a hydrangea.
