2025年5月16日（金）、正午ごろに起きた。いつものようにドジャースの試合をテレビで観た。大谷翔平選手はもちろんのこと、韓国出身の新人であるキム・ヘソン選手の活躍を見るのも楽しい。
夕方、近所の公園を散歩した。
公園のクロガネモチはたくさんの花をつけている。花はとても小さく、存在感が薄い。植物に興味がない人は、花の存在に気付いていないだろう。
同じ公園ではウツギの仲間も咲いている。クロガネモチとは対照的に目立つ花だ。比較的大きいうえに、色が白く明るい。
On Friday, May 16th, 2025, I got up around noon and watched the Dodgers’ game on TV as usual. It’s a pleasure to witness great performances not only by Shohei Ohtani, one of the best players in the league, but also by Hyeseong Kim, a rookie from Korea.
In the evening, I left home to take a walk in a nearby park.
A kurogane holly in the park had many flowers. Its flowers didn’t stand out because they are so tiny. Unless you observe plants regularly, you might not even notice them.
In contrast, the bright white flowers—possibly of Utsugi or a related species in the same park—were larger and thus easier to notice.
