2025年6月12日（木）、午前0時半ごろに起きた。夕方、近所を散歩した。
近所の公園では、白い花が咲いている。ネズミモチもしくは、同じ仲間の花だろう。
白い花を持つ草木は色々あるけれど、白い葉はなかなか珍しいのではないだろうか。そんな珍しい葉っぱをもつのが、この公園で群生しているハンゲショウだ。
この時期のハンゲショウは花をつけているものの、白い葉の方がよく目立つ。ハンゲショウの葉はどうやら、花の時期だけ白くなるそうだ。
On Thursday, June 12th, 2025, I got up around 12:30 a.m. and left home in the evening to walk around my neighborhood.
In a park I visited, a tree—either a Japanese privet or something similar—had white flowers.
While trees having white flowers are not rare, it’s hard to find white leaves. One species with white leaves is the Chinese lizard’s tail, which was growing in a group at the park.
Although its flowers were in bloom, the partly white leaves stood out more than the flowers. It’s known that the leaves are usually green and turn white only during the blooming season.
