現地時間2025年7月13日（日）、午前11時半ごろに起きた。夕方に家を出て、ウェストミンスター・ピア・パークを散歩した。
フレーザー川沿いにあるこの公園は、遊歩道や遊び場などを備える。混雑しておらず、のんびりするのにうってつけの場所だ。最近、この公園につながる遊歩道が再オープンして、歩きやすさが向上した。それに加えて、公園の拡張工事が進んでいる。
園内の一角で、ラベンダーと思しき植物がまとまって咲いていた。薄紫色の花はなんとも爽やかだ。夢中になって蜜を吸う、蜂らしき虫たちの姿もあった。
公園では小さな白い花も咲いていた。たぶんアカクキミズキの花だと思う。この植物は面白いことに、花と実を同時につけていた。
On Sunday, July 13th, 2025, I got up around 11:30 a.m. PDT and left home in the evening to take a walk in Westminster Pier Park.
The park is a nice place to chill out because there’s a sidewalk along the Fraser River, and it’s not very crowded. Walkability around the park has improved since a pathway connecting the park with another public space along the river reopened recently. Additionally, an expansion of the park is under construction.
Near a set of stairs in the park, there was a cluster of plants with light purple flowers, which might have been lavender. Quite a few insects, probably bees, had gathered there to sip nectar.
I also found tiny white flowers, which might have been from a Red-osier dogwood. Interestingly, it had both flowers and white fruits at the same time.
