現地時間2025年8月6日（水）、午前11時ごろに起きた。午後、外出した。
訪れた場所は「Shaughnessy Park」。ショッピングエリア「サウス・グランビル」の近くにある、小さな公園だ。
人が少なく、落ち着いた雰囲気だった。楓やリンデン、ヨーロッパブナなど、さまざまな木々が生い茂っていた。
なかでも私が心を惹かれたのは、鈴形の小さな花をつけたスズランノキだ。遠くから見ると、白い花の房がたなびいているようだった。足元には無数の花が落ちていた。
On Wednesday, August 6th, 2025, I got up around 11:00 a.m. PDT and went out in the afternoon.
The park I visited was Shaughnessy Park, a small park near South Granville, a shopping district in Vancouver. Since the park was introduced in a field guide featuring Vancouver’s trees, I was curious about it.
It was a calm, uncrowded park filled with various trees, such as maples, lindens, and a European beech.
The type of tree that attracted me most was sourwood. It had tiny bell-shaped flowers, and the ground beneath it was covered with countless fallen blossoms. Seen from a distance, the long clusters of flowers looked as if they were blowing in the wind.
