現地時間2025年8月7日（木）、午前10時半に起きた。夕方、Shaughnessy Parkを訪れた。
昨日に続いてこの公園を訪れた目的は、スズランノキを撮るためだ。私がスズランノキを初めて知ったは昨日。バンクーバーで目にする木のなかでは、お気に入りの1つになった。紅葉の時期の姿を見るのが楽しみだ。
昨日は気づかなかった針葉樹を、公園の端で見つけた。針葉樹としては珍しく、赤い実をつけている。イチイの木だ。
イチイのすぐそばでは、エゴノキと思しき木が白い実をつけている。バンクーバーの公園では、果実を目にすることがあまり多くない分、いろいろな実を見つけることができると嬉しく思う。
On Thursday, August 7th, 2025, I got up around 10:30 a.m. PDT and went out in the evening to visit Shaughnessy Park for the second day in a row.
The reason I came was to take pictures of sourwoods in the park. Sourwood has become one of my favorite trees in Vancouver, and I’m looking forward to seeing its leaves turn red in the coming season.
At the edge of the park, I found a conifer with red fruits that I hadn’t noticed yesterday. It’s a yew, but I’m not sure of its exact type among the several kinds of yew.
Right next to the red fruits, there were white fruits, which might be Japanese snowbell. It’s exciting to come across fruit-bearing trees in Vancouver, where they are relatively hard to find compared to Japan.
