現地時間2025年7月31日（木）、午前11時半に起きた。夕方、スタンレーパークを訪れた。
数羽のハシボソキツツキが、スタンレーパークの一角を歩きまわっていた。人が近くにいても、さほど警戒していない様子だった。
園内の一角には薔薇園があり、その近くでは薔薇以外の植物も華やかな花を咲かせている。クサギやネムノキだ。
花だけではなく、葉っぱの彩りも景色の美しさを形づくる。緑色の葉と一口に言っても、木の種類によって色合いが異なる。樹種はよく分からないが、赤紫色の葉もバンクーバーではよく見かける。
On Thursday, July 31st, 2025, I got up at 11:30 a.m. PDT and visited Stanley Park in the evening.
In the park, a few Northern Flickers were walking on the ground. They didn’t seem particularly wary of the people hanging around nearby.
Elegant flowers of the harlequin glorybower and the gorgeous blossoms of the Persian silk tree could be seen around the Stanley Park Rose Garden.
The park’s beauty comes not only from its flowers but also from the variety of leaves that add color to the scenery. Even among the green leaves, their shades vary depending on the type of tree. In addition, wine-red leaves are a common sight in Vancouver, though I’m not sure which species they belong to.
