現地時間2025年8月15日（金）、午前7時半に起きた。朝から昼過ぎにかけて、ボランティア活動をした。いつものように、外来植物の除去に励んだ。
雨のなかで3時間、屋外作業をした。土砂降りに近い雨だった。
雨に濡れた私には、森の景色を楽しむ余裕はなかった。レインジャケットと長靴を借り、それに加えて自前のレインパンツで雨に備えたが、首まわりの隙間から水が服の中に染み込んできた。
ボランティアのメンバーの中には、今年の冬から活動に参加し続けている人がいる。寒く雨の多い冬にも作業していたなんて、恐れ入る。
On Friday, August 15th, 2025, I got up at 7:30 a.m. PDT and spent the morning and afternoon in a park, joining a volunteer activity to help remove invasive plants.
We worked outdoors for three hours in the rain, which was almost a downpour.
Although the scenery of the forest in the rain was fantastic, I couldn’t really appreciate it because I got quite wet. Even though I wore rain pants and borrowed a rain jacket and rain boots, water gradually seeped into my clothes through a gap around my neck.
Among our volunteer members, there is someone who has been contributing to this activity since early this year. I can’t believe he volunteered here during winter in Vancouver, which is such a rainy and cold season.
