現地時間2025年8月16日（土）、午前9時に起きた。夕方に弓道をした。
練習が終わった後は、電車の駅まで友人が車で送ってくれた。今夏にバンクーバーに戻ってきてからは、これが習慣になっている。車内での友人との会話がとても楽しい。
会話の中で、カナダの失業率の話題が出た。若者世代の失業率の深刻さについて、私はニュースで耳にしたことがある。カナダ統計局によると、先月の若者の失業率は14.6%だったそうだ。
なぜこんな深刻な状況になっているのだろう。その正確な理由を述べることは、私にはできない。大学生が勉強に集中できる環境であれば、それ以上カナダの社会に望むことはない。
On Saturday, August 16th, 2025, I got up at 9:00 a.m. PDT and practiced Japanese archery in the evening.
After practice, my friend drove me from the gym where we shot arrows to a station. This has become our routine since I came back to Vancouver, and I really enjoy our conversations in his car.
During our conversation, the topic of Canada’s unemployment rate happened to come up. I have heard local news reports about how serious the issue is for the younger generation. According to Statistics Canada, the youth unemployment rate in July was 14.6%.
I’m not sure what is causing this severe situation, but I just hope that Canada’s economy and society will become one where the anxiety about unemployment doesn’t prevent university students from focusing on their studies.
