現地時間2025年8月17日（日）、午前11時半に起きた。トラウト湖のあるジョン・ヘンドリー・パークを訪れた。
この公園で、3種類のオーク（Oak）を目撃した。
1つがレッドオーク。ぎざぎざした葉っぱが存在感を放っている。もう1つのオークは、ピンオークと思しき木。この葉っぱもぎざぎざしているものの、葉全体の形が細く、繊細な印象だ。
3つ目はギャリーオークらしき木。ブリティッシュコロンビア州の在来種だそうだ。
On Sunday, August 17th, 2025, I got up at 11:30 a.m. PDT and visited John Hendry Park, where Trout Lake is located.
From what I observed today, there are three types of oaks in the park.
First, a Red Oak grows in the northwest part of the park. Its jagged leaves leave a strong impression. Another oak I came across, which was likely a Pin Oak, has similar leaves, but I found their slimmer shape more delicate.
The third type might be a Garry Oak, which is native to BC. I’m still not confident in identifying the species, but I referred to a field guide that describes several trees in the park.
