現地時間2025年9月10日（水）、午前7時半に起きた。午前、公園でのボランティア活動に参加した。今日の作業は普段よりきつかったも。それでも、作業中に鳥を目撃できた瞬間はテンションが上がった。
作業を終えたあと、スタンレーパークを歩いた。
園内の小さな湖では、睡蓮が咲いている。鮮やかな赤色の花だった。
湖のそばに立ついくつかの木が、淡い赤色の実をつけている。おそらくクラブアップルだろう。
On Tuesday, September 10th, 2025, I got up at 7:30 a.m. PDT and took part in volunteer work at a park in the morning. Although our task as volunteers was tougher than usual, I was glad to spot some birds while working.
After finishing the work, I walked around Stanley Park, especially near Beaver Lake.
Water lilies were blooming beautifully just above the surface of the lake. These flowers were bright red, though I don’t know their specific name among water lilies.
At the edge of the forest near the lake, I found trees with faintly red-colored fruits, which might have been crabapples. A field guide I have, titled Vancouver Tree Book by David Tracey, says that the Pacific crabapple is “our only native apple tree…”.
