現地時間2025年9月15日（月）、14時ごろに起きた。夕方、弓道の練習をするために出かけた。
練習前は散歩をした。フォールスクリーク沿いを歩きながら、バンクーバーの有名建築を眺めた。冬は悪天候が続くだろうから、その前にできるだけ、好天の下での景色を楽しみたい。
住宅街を歩いていた際は、ある街路樹が気になった。その木の特徴的な部分は、樹皮だ。赤みを帯び、表面はめくれあがっている。
この木は楓の一種だという。名前はアカハダメグスリノキ。葉っぱだけを見たら、楓とは思えない。
On Monday, September 15th, 2025, I got up at 2:00 p.m. PDT and practiced Japanese archery in the evening.
Before practice, I went for a walk. As I strolled along False Creek, I saw some of Vancouver’s well-known buildings, such as the Vancouver Lookout, the Sun Tower, and Rogers Arena. With the rainy winter season approaching, I want to enjoy the scenery under blue skies as much as possible.
I also noticed a tree standing on a residential street. The most striking feature of the tree is its reddish bark, with many parts peeling off incompletely, like flipped pieces of paper.
This tree is a species of maple called the Paperbark Maple. Judging from its leaves, I would never have imagined it was a maple.
