現地時間2025年9月17日（水）、午前11時ごろに起きた。夕方、リッチモンドを散歩した。リッチモンドは、バンクーバー都市圏の一角を占める都市で、バンクーバー国際空港などを有する。
今日私は、Templeton駅からCapstan駅までの区間を歩いた。フレーザー川にかかる橋を渡りながら、着陸間近の飛行機を眺めた。
Capstan駅の周辺は急速に発展しているのだろう。新しめの集合住宅が立ち並んでいる。それに加えて、巨大な建物が駅前で建設中だ。これも恐らく集合住宅になるのだろう。
地元メディアによると、この駅は昨年12月に開業したという。どうりで駅舎が真新しいわけだ。駅舎の壁に施された芸術作品が、駅全体をより洗練された雰囲気にしている。
On Wednesday, September 17th, 2025, I got up around 11:00 a.m. PDT and went out in the evening to walk around Richmond.
Today I strolled from Templeton Station to Capstan Station. I crossed a bridge over the Fraser River and watched airplanes coming in to land at Vancouver International Airport.
It had been a while since I last visited residential areas in Richmond, and I was struck by how many fairly new condos stood near Capstan Station, along with another huge building under construction, which will likely be a condo too. This shows that the area has been developing rapidly in recent years. A small park has been built in front of the station, serving as one of the public spaces that help create a transit-oriented community.
According to CBC, the station opened last December, so it’s no surprise that the building looks brand new. The artwork on the stairwell and escalator walls stands out and gives the station a sophisticated look.
