メジャーリーグのプレーオフの中継を家で観た。このプレーオフでは、トロント・ブルージェイズとシアトル・マリナーズがワールドシリーズ進出をかけて対戦する。ブルージェイズは、主力打者・スプリンガー選手の本塁打で先制したものの、最終的には1対3で敗れ、シリーズ初戦を落とした。
私の家にはテレビがない。野球を観るには、ライブ配信サービスを利用する必要がある。そこで私は今日、スポーツ専門チャンネル「Sportsnet」の配信サービスに登録した。月額料金はおよそ30カナダドル。野球だけでなく、アイスホッケーなども視聴できる。
約2週間前に私は、別の配信サービスで野球を観ようと試みた。「MLB.TV」という配信サービスだ。だがこのチャンネルでは、カナダからの視聴ができない。その時点では、私は観戦を諦めていた。
On Sunday, October 12th, 2025, I got up at 7:00 a.m. PDT and stayed home.
I watched a live broadcast of a Major League Baseball playoff game. The only Canadian team in the league, the Toronto Blue Jays, played against the Seattle Mariners, the team closest to Vancouver, for a chance to advance to the World Series, the championship of the league. Although the Jays’ leading hitter, George Springer, hit a home run in the first inning to give his team the lead, they were defeated 1–3 by the Mariners in the first game of the series.
Since there is no TV in my home, I have to use a livestreaming service to watch baseball games. Therefore, I signed up for the monthly plan of Sportsnet’s livestreaming service today, which costs about CAD 30. The service allows me to watch not only baseball games but also National Hockey League games, which I also want to enjoy.
As I mentioned in a previous post on this blog, I tried to watch baseball games through another livestreaming service, MLB.TV, about two weeks ago. However, it can’t be watched from Canada, so I gave up on watching it at that point.
