現地時間2025年10月20日（月）、午前11時ごろに起きた。夕方、弓道の練習をした。
午後、スカイトレインのRupert駅で降りた。駅の近くにある公園「サンライズパーク」を訪れた。
サンライズパークは丘の上に位置し、この地区の東側を見渡すことができる。公園の名前からも分かるように、日の出を眺めるにはぴったりの場所なのだろう。
眺望のなかで目立つのが、林立する高層住宅だ。Brentwood Town Centre駅とGilmore駅、両駅の前にマンションが立ち並んでいる。線路の北側には丘があり、戸建て住宅が斜面をびっしりと覆っている。
駅前に立つ高層住宅群と、丘に広がる無数の小さな家々。私が思うに、この2つの組み合わせこそが、バンクーバー都市圏を象徴する景色だ。
On Monday, October 20th, 2025, I got up around 11:00 a.m. PDT and practiced Japanese archery in the evening.
In the afternoon, I got off at Rupert Station on the Millennium Line and visited a park near the station.
The park is located on a hill and serves as a vantage point overlooking the eastern side of the neighborhood. It seems to offer a clear view of the sunrise, as its name, Sunrise Park, suggests.
What I saw from there today was a cluster of tall condominiums near two Millennium Line stations—Brentwood Town Centre Station and Gilmore Station. I could also see detached houses covering a hill on the north side of the railway. In my opinion, the combination of high-rise condominiums in front of the stations and countless small houses on the hillside is an iconic feature of the Metro Vancouver landscape.
