現地時間2025年10月21日（火）、午前11時ごろに起きた。昼と夕方に1回ずつ、アイススケートをした。
スケート場で会った年配の女性が、いくつか助言をしてくれた。私はその助言に従い、「スラローム」という動きを試してみた。計2時間以上練習して、なんとかコツをつかめた。結構難しかった。
昨夜から今日未明にかけて、シアトル・マリナーズとトロント・ブルージェイズの試合の見逃し配信を観た。両者はアメリカンリーグチャンピオンの座をかけて戦っており、昨夜の試合がシリーズの最終戦だった。
残念ながら私は、試合を観る前から勝敗を知っていた。昨日の弓道の練習中に、友人が結果を話していたからだ。そんな事情があったけれども、楽しく試合を観ることができた。それほど劇的な試合だった。
このシリーズを制したブルージェイズはワールドシリーズに進出する。対戦相手は、ロサンゼルス・ドジャース。戦力を単純に比べれば、ドジャースの方が格上だ。それでもブルージェイズにはカナダ国民の期待を背負って、できる限りの戦いを見せてほしい。
On Tuesday, October 21st, 2025, I got up around 11:00 a.m. PDT and went ice skating around noon and again in the evening.
An old lady who was also skating gave me some advice about skating skills, and I started trying a move called the slalom, following what she told me. Although it was quite difficult to master, I somehow managed to get the hang of it after practicing for more than two hours in total.
After coming home, I watched a replay of the baseball game between the Seattle Mariners and the Toronto Blue Jays — the decisive game of the American League Championship Series — from late at night into the early hours of today.
Unfortunately, I already knew the result before watching it, since my friend mentioned it during Japanese archery practice last night. Even so, it was still exciting to watch because of the dramatic comeback win by the only Canadian team. As a result, this year’s World Series will be between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Blue Jays. Realistically, it’s going to be a tough challenge for the latter to defeat the Dodgers, but I hope the Jays will fight as hard as they can, representing all Canadians’ expectations.
