現地時間2025年10月22日（水）、午前7時半ごろに起きた。午前中、公園でボランティア活動に参加した。
家に戻ってから、トラブルが発生した。同居人と共用している洗濯機が、壊れてしまった。私が洗濯をしている途中で、洗濯機から大量の水があふれ出し、床がびしょ濡れになった。被害を受けたのは、台所と、ある同居人の部屋。私の寝室と、もう1人のルームメイトの部屋は無事だった。
私はすぐに洗濯機を止めて、床を拭いた。被害を受けなかった方のルームメイトもちょうど家にいて、後始末を手伝ってくれた。
掃除をして床は元に戻ったが、洗濯機は直っていない。洗濯も途中で止まったままで、私の服は臭いまま。バンクーバーの治安が悪い地区で感じるような臭いがする。
On Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025, I got up around 7:30 a.m. PDT and took part in volunteer work at a park in the morning.
After I got back home, I ran into a huge problem — the washing machine broke down while it was washing my clothes. In the middle of the cycle, a large amount of water came out of the machine, and the floor in the surrounding areas, including the kitchen and my housemate’s room, got soaked.
I immediately stopped the machine and wiped the wet floor, with my housemate helping me clean up the house.
After our efforts, the house regained its original cleanliness. However, the washing machine hasn’t been fixed yet. On top of that, since my clothes weren’t washed properly, they now stink — kind of like the smell you notice in some sketchy areas of Vancouver.
