現地時間2025年10月31日（金）、午前8時に起きた。雨のなか、公園でのボランティア活動に参加した。
今日一番の楽しみは、メジャーリーグのワールドシリーズ第6戦を観ることだった。前日時点でトロント・ブルージェイズが3勝2敗でシリーズをリードしていた。今夜ロサンゼルス・ドジャースに勝てば優勝が決まる状況だった。
第6戦は結局、ドジャースが3対1で勝利した。シリーズの成績を3勝3敗のタイに持ち込んだ。今日の勝利に貢献した選手の1人が、ムーキー・ベッツ選手。勝負強く2点適時打を放った。ベッツ選手はここまで不調に苦しみ、自信を失っているように見えただけに、今日の活躍は印象的だった。
ワールドシリーズは4戦先勝の方式。すなわち、明日の試合に勝ったチームが、シリーズの王者になる。明日、私は弓道の練習の予定があるが、試合の中継をどうしても観たいので練習には行かないつもりだ。
On Friday, October 31st, 2025, I got up around 8:00 a.m. PDT and took part in volunteer work at a park in the rain.
What I was looking forward to most today was watching Game 6 of the World Series, the championship series of Major League Baseball. The only Canadian team in the league, the Toronto Blue Jays, led the series 3–2 heading into today’s game, so they could win the championship if they beat the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight.
The game ended in a 3–1 win for the opponent. I was impressed by Mookie Betts, the Dodgers’ star, who hit a clutch two-run single. He had been struggling until the previous game and had seemed to lose confidence.
The team that wins tomorrow’s game will become the champion, since the series is a best-of-seven. Although I have Japanese archery practice tomorrow, I won’t go because I want to watch the game live.
