現地時間2025年11月1日（土）、13時半ごろに起きた。一日中家にいた。毎週土曜日は弓道の練習があるが、今日は行かなかった。ワールドシリーズ第7戦を、どうしてもライブで見たかったからだ。
弓道ではなく野球を選んで、大正解。そう断言できるほど、最高に面白い試合だった。
試合を優位に進めていたのは、トロント・ブルージェイズだ。ビシェット選手の3点本塁打とヒメネス選手の適時打でリードを奪った。だが9回表、ロサンゼルス・ドジャースのベテラン、ロハス選手が劇的な同点本塁打を放つ。延長11回表にはスミス選手が決勝本塁打を打ち、ドジャースを優勝へ導いた。
山本投手の存在も忘れてはならない。シリーズの第2戦と第6戦で先発した山本投手は、今日もマウンドに上がり、胴上げ投手となった。今シリーズにおける大車輪の活躍は今後、野球ファンの語り草になるだろう。
シリーズ全体そして今日のゲームを通じて私は、いろいろな選手の素晴らしさを知ることができた。特にロハス選手。昨日の第6戦と今日の第7戦における守備、そして今日の打撃は見事だった。
On Saturday, November 1st, 2025, I got up around 1:30 p.m. PDT and stayed home, even though there was Japanese archery practice this evening, which I usually attend every Saturday. I really wanted to watch Game 7 of the World Series live at home instead of going to my regular practice.
My decision today left no regret, as the game turned out to be the most exciting baseball match I’ve ever watched at home.
Here’s the summary of the game. The Toronto Blue Jays took the lead with Bo Bichette’s three-run homer and Andrés Giménez’s RBI double, entering the ninth inning. Although they seemed to be on the verge of victory, Miguel Rojas, a veteran of the Los Angeles Dodgers, hit a game-tying solo homer in the inning. Finally, Will Smith, the Dodgers’ star catcher, blasted a homer in the 11th inning, sending Los Angeles to the World Series championship.
On top of that, Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s historical pitching performance tonight deserves enormous credit. Having already contributed as a starter in Games 2 and 6, he took the mound again from the ninth through the eleventh inning, sealing the dramatic game and the entire series.
Among the many players on both teams, Shohei Ohtani and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. naturally draw a lot of attention from fans, myself included. However, this game and this series reminded me that other players, such as the ones I mentioned earlier, are also well worth watching. In particular, Rojas’s defensive plays over the past two days and his offensive performance tonight were so impressive that he has become one of my favorite players.
