現地時間2025年11月7日（金）、正午ごろに起きた。午後に散歩に出かけた。
訪れたのは、Shaughnessy Park。バンクーバーでお気に入りの公園だ。ここにあるスズランノキの紅葉が、美しくなっているだろうと私は期待していた。
今日見た実際の姿は、期待通りではなかった。葉があまり色づいていなかったり、地面に落ちてしまっていたりした。同じ公園内にあるイロハモミジも見頃が終わっていた。
園内で美しさを誇っていたのは、巨大なヨーロッパブナだ。葉が黄金色に変わり始めていた。
On Friday, November 7th, 2025, I got up around noon PST and went out for a stroll in the afternoon.
The place I visited today was Shaughnessy Park, one of my favorite parks in Vancouver. I expected the sourwoods there to have become more beautiful than when I saw them about two weeks ago.
However, they were a bit disappointing, as their leaves hadn’t turned red well or had already fallen to the ground. The leaves of the Japanese maple trees in the park were also gone.
Instead, a huge European beech tree caught my eye with its leaves beginning to turn golden.
