2025年11月14日（金）、午前8時ごろに起きた。明治神宮野球場で明治神宮野球大会を観戦した。この大会は、高校野球と大学野球の全国大会だ。
私が観戦したのは2試合。ひとつは高校の試合で、山梨学院と帝京の対戦だ。山梨学院が6対3で逆転勝ちを収めた。敗れた帝京については、打者の力強さが印象的だった。
もうひとつの試合は大学の試合で、立命館と東京農業大学北海道オホーツクの対戦だ。立命館が4対0で完勝した。当然ではあるものの、前の試合に出ていた高校生と比べるとプレーのレベルが段違いだった。
今日最も注目を集めた選手は、立命館の有馬伽久投手で間違いないだろう。圧倒的な投球で、大会新記録の10者連続奪三振を達成した。相手打者はかすりもしない様子で、三振が積み重なるにつれて観客の興奮が高まっていった。
On Wednesday, November 14th, 2025, I got up around 8:00 a.m. and visited a baseball stadium in the heart of Tokyo to watch a traditional national baseball tournament for high schools and colleges.
What I enjoyed watching today at the stadium were two games. One of them was between Yamanashi Gakuin Senior High School and Teikyo Senior High School. Although the former team made a comeback and won 6–3, the powerful swings of some Teikyo batters were very impressive.
The other game I watched was the matchup between Ritsumeikan University and Tokyo University of Agriculture Hokkaido-Okhotsk Campus, in which the former team defeated the latter 4–0. Compared to high school players, the college players I saw today were on an entirely different level.
The most outstanding player for me—and for many other spectators—was Gaku Arima, a left-handed pitcher for Ritsumeikan who is expected to become a professional player in the future. He dominated on the mound, striking out ten consecutive batters, which set an all-time record for the tournament. The opposing batters clearly struggled even to make contact, and as the strikeouts piled up, the spectators grew increasingly excited.
