現地時間2025年11月19日（水）、14時ごろに起きた。午後、バンクーバーのガスタウンを歩いた。
散歩中に見ていたのはイチョウ。黄葉が有名な木だ。日本と違い、バンクーバーでイチョウを見かけることはあまり多くない。ただし、今日歩いたガスタウンには植わっている。
今日見た数本のうちの1本は、まだ葉を残していた。一方、他のイチョウはほとんどの葉っぱを落とした状態だった。
一週間前に私は、横浜でイチョウを見かけた。その時点で緑や黄色の葉っぱが茂っていたことを考えると、今日もまだイチョウは美しさを保っているだろう。バンクーバーより黄葉の時期が遅いと感じる。
On Wednesday, November 19th, 2025, I got up around 2:00 p.m. PST and walked around Gastown in Vancouver in the afternoon.
What I focused on during my stroll was the ginkgo, a tree species known for its golden foliage. Although I haven’t seen it many times in Vancouver, I knew there were some in the neighborhood.
Among the few ginkgo trees I found today, the one near the Gastown Steam Clock—one of the most popular tourist spots in Vancouver—still had leaves on its branches. On the other hand, most of the others I saw had already lost many of their leaves.
Just a week ago, when I looked at ginkgo trees in Yokohama, Japan, they were still full of green or yellow leaves. Based on that, I guess they are still beautiful there now, which is later than the season in Vancouver.
