On Saturday, November 22nd, 2025, I got up around 5:00 a.m. PST and went to Japanese archery practice in the evening.
After returning home, I watched an on-demand stream of an ice hockey game between the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers, the same matchup as the Stanley Cup Finals in 2024 and 2025. Today’s game was extremely intense and well worth watching. It was enough to make me understand why both teams had advanced to the previous two Stanley Cup Finals.
Speaking of ice hockey, I read an interesting news article about a women’s professional ice hockey team in Vancouver, the Vancouver Goldeneyes. Their first-ever franchise game took place yesterday at the Pacific Coliseum in their home city, where they beat the Seattle Torrent 4–3 with an overtime goal.
The CBC article I read reported that the arena was packed with excited fans. I already knew, to some extent, that women’s sports have been gaining popularity around the world in recent years, but the article made that trend even clearer to me.
