現地時間2025年11月23日（日）、午前6時に起きた。バンクーバーの街を歩いた。ハクトウワシらしき、2羽の鳥を目撃した。写真を撮ることはできなかったものの、その鳥がいかに大きかったかははっきりと覚えている。
今日訪れた場所は、Shaughnessy Park。バンクーバーにある小さな公園だ。
公園に立つヨーロッパブナは、落葉を終えた後だった。今月初めの時点では鮮やかに黄葉していたものの、今では落ち葉と実が地面を覆っている。
ヨーロッパブナ同様、園内の多くの樹木が葉を落とした。一方、葉を茂らせている木もある。Hollyの一種だろう。緑の葉とともに、赤い実をたくさんつけている。
On Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, I got up around 6:00 a.m. PST and walked around residential and commercial areas in Vancouver. During the stroll, I was excited to spot two large raptors, likely Bald Eagles, though I couldn’t take pictures of them.
The place I visited today was Shaughnessy Park, a small and quiet park in Vancouver, to observe the condition of some trees there.
The leaves on a European beech in the park had already fallen, whereas it had had gorgeous golden foliage at the beginning of this month. Its old leaves and fruits were covering the ground.
While many species in the park showed their winter appearance without leaves, the holly trees were full of green leaves and attractive red berries.
