現地時間2025年10月4日（土）、午前6時半に起きた。夕方、弓道の練習をした。
練習前、バンクーバーのダウンタウンを散歩した。パレスチナの旗を掲げるデモ隊が、大通りの一部を占拠していた。
ロブソンスクエアに立つある木が、ピンク色の実をつけている。整った形の果実ではなく、泡が不規則に膨らんだような形だ。
実の形からすると、モクレンの仲間だと思う。名前はわからない。モクレンのように、華麗な花を春に見せてくれるのかもしれない。
On Saturday, October 4th, 2025, I got up at 6:30 a.m. PDT and practiced Japanese archery in the evening.
Before practice, I walked around downtown Vancouver. A group of protesters raising Palestinian flags had occupied part of the nearby streets.
What caught my eye was a tree standing in Robson Square. It had pink, distinctively shaped fruits that looked as if bubbles were growing at random.
I’m not sure of the specific name of the tree, but I believe it belongs to the magnolia family based on the shape of its fruit. It might bloom splendidly in spring, like the magnolias commonly seen in Japan.
