現地時間2025年12月14日（日）、午前12時半に起きた。午後、アイススケートの練習をした。
普段は火曜昼か木曜昼にアイススケートをするが、今日は日曜日。その分、リンクは混雑していた。ただし、私が行ったことのある東京のリンクよりは、スペースに余裕があった。
今日のアイスリンクには、若い人がいつもより多く来ていた。子どもが進行方向と逆に滑っていたり、少年が私の目の前に現れたり、危険を感じる場面が結構あった。
初心者の割合も、平日よりも多いと感じた。リンクの一角には、初心者向けの区画があり、それ以外のエリアと分かれている。そのおかげで、初心者も経験者も安全に練習できる。
On Sunday, December 14th, 2025, I got up at 12:30 p.m. PST and practiced ice skating in the afternoon for about two and a half hours.
It was my first time going ice skating on a Sunday in Canada, as I usually do it around noon on Tuesday or Thursday. The ice rink I visited today was more crowded than on weekdays, although another rink I had skated at in the heart of Tokyo had been much more crowded than what I experienced today.
There were more young people than usual, and their movements could be dangerous. I saw a child skating in the opposite direction of the designated flow, and a young boy suddenly cutting in front of me. They were like drivers committing traffic violations on major roads.
The percentage of beginners today seemed higher than on weekdays. An area for people who could not glide smoothly was separated from the main area, so the rink remained safe overall.
