現地時間2026年1月4日（日）、午前7時ごろに起きた。朝、外出した。
公園で巨大な鳥を見つけた。猛禽類の一種だ。その鳥はしばらくの間、木にとまっていた。
その鳥に興味を示している人が、私のほかにも数人いた。私が撮影した鳥の写真を何人かに見せると、そのうちの1人が「イヌワシ」だと教えてくれた。
その見た目は確かに、図鑑に載っているイヌワシとよく似ている。ただし、ハクトウワシの幼鳥にも見える。なので、「イヌワシだ」と断言することは、私にはできない。
On Saturday, January 3rd, 2026, I got up at 7:00 a.m. PST and went out in the morning.
While walking in a park, I spotted a huge bird perched on a tree. It was obviously a raptor, but I was not sure of its species.
Other walkers were also curious about the raptor. I showed a couple of them a zoomed-in photo of the bird that I had taken, and they told me it was a Golden Eagle.
Indeed, its appearance resembled the Golden Eagle shown in my illustrated book. However, I cannot guarantee that it was a Golden Eagle, since I cannot tell the difference between a Golden Eagle and a juvenile Bald Eagle.
