現地時間2025年12月31日（水）、15時半ごろに起きた。一日中家で過ごした。
今年を振り返ってみれば、アイスホッケーにだいぶ詳しくなった一年だった。来年の冬季五輪でアイスホッケーを観るのが待ち遠しい。
カナダ代表のアイスホッケーチームの出場選手が今日発表された。ネイサン・マッキノン選手やコナー・マクデービッド選手といった、世界最高峰の攻撃的選手は当然メンバーに選ばれた。この2人が味方として同じリンクに立ち、どのようなプレーを見せてくれるのかとても楽しみだ。
新顔としては、モントリオール・カナディアンズ所属のニック・スズキ選手、サンノゼ・シャークス所属のマックリン・セレブリーニ選手がいる。どちらも私が注目している選手だ。スズキ選手は日系カナダ人であり、彼を応援しない理由はない。セレブリーニ選手については、純粋に彼のプレーが好きだということに加え、ノースバンクーバー出身で育ったという点も応援したくなる要素だ。彼はまだ19歳。次の五輪は、これから始まる伝説的なキャリアの、最初のハイライトになるかもしれない。

As I have become more and more familiar with ice hockey in North America this year, I’m looking forward to watching the sport at the upcoming Winter Olympic Games in Italy next year.
The roster for the Canadian national ice hockey team was announced today. Nathan MacKinnon and Connor McDavid, two of the best offensive players in the world, were unsurprisingly named to the roster, and I’m very excited to see how they will play together in the Olympics.
New names on the team include Nick Suzuki of the Montreal Canadiens and Macklin Celebrini of the San Jose Sharks, both of whom are players I’m interested in. Suzuki is a Japanese Canadian, so there is every reason for me, as a Japanese, to root for him. As for Celebrini, I simply like his performance, and the fact that he grew up in North Vancouver also draws my attention. Celebrini is still only 19 years old, and the upcoming Olympics could become the first major highlight of his potentially legendary career.
