現地時間2026年1月10日（土）、午前6時ごろに起きた。夕方は弓道の練習をした。
自宅では、カーリングの国際大会を観た。女子の準々決勝と準決勝の結果、スイスの「Team Tirinzoni」とカナダの「Team Einarson」が、明日の決勝で対戦することになった。
韓国の「Team Gim」は準決勝で敗れたものの、魅力的なチームに感じた。今年の冬季五輪での彼女たちの活躍が楽しみだ。
この大会は、ツアー大会「グランドスラム」の1つだ。このグランドスラムシリーズの前回大会は先月開催され、そこでは女子ベスト4のうち3枠を、日本のチームが占めた。しかし今回の大会では、日本のチームは準々決勝にすら進むことができなかった。個人的には、日本と世界にそこまで大きな差があるとは思わない。日本代表の五輪でのメダル獲得を期待している。
On Saturday, January 10th, 2026, I got up around 6:00 a.m. PST and practiced Japanese archery in the evening.
At home, I watched an international curling tournament, a series of events known as the Grand Slam of Curling. Following the women’s quarterfinals and semifinals, Team Tirinzoni from Switzerland and Team Einarson from Canada are set to face each other in the final tomorrow.
Although Team Gim from Korea was defeated by the Swiss team in the semifinal, I found them appealing. I’m looking forward to seeing their performance at the upcoming Olympic Games in Italy.
The previous tournament in the series took place last month, and three Japanese teams occupied four of the semifinal spots at that time. However, no Japanese teams were able to advance even to the quarterfinals in this month’s competition, which is disappointing to me. I don’t think there is a huge gap in competitiveness between Japanese teams and other top-level teams in the world, so I hope Team Yoshimura, which is representing the country at the Olympics, will win a medal.
