現地時間2026年1月11日（日）、午前8時ごろに起きた。一日中家で過ごした。
昨日に引き続き、家でカーリングの国際大会を観た。スイスの「Team Tirinzoni」とカナダの「Team Einarson」による、決勝戦だった。スイスのチームが優勝した。
画面越しに映る決勝戦の会場は、ほぼ満員に見えた。地元カナダのチームを観ようと、多くの観客が集まったのだろうか。会場はカナダのマニトバ州にあり、同州はTeam Einarsonの地元だ。
どちらかのチームが重要なショットを放つたび、観客は手拍子をして会場を盛り上げていた。強い一体感が見て取れた。観客が試合に集中し、戦況をよく理解していることも伝わってきた。日本開催のカーリングの試合にも同じような応援の仕方があるのか、私は知らないが、そうであってほしいと思う。
On Sunday, January 11th, 2026, I got up around 8:00 a.m. PST and stayed home all day.
Following yesterday, I watched an international curling tournament at home—a series of events known as the Grand Slam of Curling. The game I watched today was the women’s final between Team Tirinzoni from Switzerland and Team Einarson from Canada. The Swiss team ended up winning the title, achieving back-to-back championships in the series this season.
As the final was underway, the venue looked almost packed, possibly because many spectators were excited to watch a Canadian team. The arena was located in Manitoba, Canada, which is the home province of Team Einarson.
Whenever either team delivered a critical shot, the spectators clapped their hands in unison, and the arena became electric. This showed a strong sense of unity among the crowd; at the same time, it was clear that they were closely following the match and understood the game situation well. I’m not sure whether the same style of cheering can be seen in Japan, but I hope so.
