現地時間2026年1月13日（火）、午前8時半に起きた。昼、アイススケートをした。
午後、ノースバンクーバーを歩いた。地区の中心部らしき一帯から、海辺のエリアまで散歩した。
市庁舎と図書館が向かい合わせに立っている。どちらも小綺麗な建物だ。商業施設や住宅など、街なかにある一般的な建物も、派手さはないが、見ていて楽しい。この街は落ち着きと活気のバランスがよい。
ただし、「住みたい街か」と問われると話は変わる。それはひとえに、鉄道の駅がないからだ。バンクーバーの中心地と、ノースバンクーバーを結ぶ電車があればよいのに、と個人的には思う。
On Tuesday, January 13th, 2026, I got up around 8:30 a.m. PST and went ice skating around noon.
In the afternoon, I visited North Vancouver and walked around the area. I started in what seemed to be the heart of North Vancouver and eventually reached the waterfront area.
The city hall and library have stylish exteriors and comfortable interior spaces where people can spend time. In addition, the appearance of other ordinary buildings in the neighborhood, such as commercial and residential ones, made the area enjoyable to explore. It feels as though the town strikes a good balance between calmness and vibrancy.
However, it is not a place where I would like to live, simply because there are no train stations. I wish the local railway company would build stations connecting the area with downtown Vancouver.
