小さなミスをしてしまい、自分自身にがっかりした。ただし、自分のミスなど、昨日カナダで起きた悲劇と比べれば、取るに足らない。
悲劇とは、ブリティッシュ・コロンビア州の中等学校で起きた銃乱射事件だ。少なくとも5人の若い生徒を含む複数の人々が命を落とした。普段私が聴いている、カナダのラジオ局は、このニュースを長時間にわたって報じ続けていた。
まさかカナダで銃乱射事件が起きるとは。私はまったく想像しておらず、衝撃を受けた。カナダで子どもを育てる親はきっと、私よりも深刻に、この事件を受け止めているだろう。
On Wednesday, February 11th, 2026, I got up at 7:30 a.m. PST and participated in volunteer work at a park.
I was very disappointed in myself because I made some small mistakes today. However, my sadness is insignificant compared to the huge tragedy that happened yesterday in Canada.
It was a mass shooting at a secondary school in the province of British Columbia that killed several people, including at least five young students. The Canadian radio station I usually listen to kept reporting the news for a long time today.
It was shocking to me because I had never imagined that a mass shooting would happen in this country. It is impossible not to think about how difficult it must be for parents to raise their children in the face of such a horrible crime.
