現地時間2026年2月14日（土）、午前12時半ごろに起きた。夕方、弓道の練習をした。
家で、冬季五輪の試合をいくつか観た。いずれの試合にも、スイス代表が出ていた。1つは男子アイスホッケーの試合だった。超強豪のカナダを相手に、スイスは1対5で敗れた。さらに残念なことに、私の好きなケビン・フィアラ選手が試合終盤に負傷した。かなり深刻そうだった。
もう1つ私が観たのは、女子のカーリングだ。スイス代表は強豪チームとして有名で、今冬、国際大会で優勝している。だが今日の試合では主導権を握れることができず、日本に敗れた。
これまで私はバンクーバーで、スイス出身の若者に数人出会ったことがある。それがきっかけで、スイスに興味を持つようになった。この国のスポーツ・経済・政治について知りたい。とは言え、スイスと言えば物価の高さが有名で、頻繁に訪れたり、長期間滞在したりするのは難しいかもしれない。
On Saturday, February 14th, 2026, I got up around 12:30 p.m. PST and practiced Japanese archery in the evening.
At home, I watched a couple of Olympic events in which Switzerland’s national teams competed. One of them was a men’s ice hockey game against Canada. Facing some of the greatest Canadian players, Switzerland was defeated 1–5. Even more sadly for the European country, Kevin Fiala, one of my favorite National Hockey League (NHL) players, was injured late in the game, and the injury seemed serious.
The other game I watched was a women’s curling match. Although the team representing Switzerland is known for its competitiveness and has won international tournaments this winter, they couldn’t control the game and ended up losing to Japan.
Having met some young people from Switzerland in Vancouver, I have become especially interested in the country. Sports, economics, and politics there are themes I would like to learn more about, although it might be difficult for me to visit often or stay for a long time, given that the country is well known for being expensive.
