現地時間2026年2月18日（水）、午前6時に起きた。バンクーバーのダウンタウンからバスに乗った。
バスを待つ間、テレビのあるフードコートで時間をつぶした。テレビでは、五輪のアイスホッケーの試合が流れていた。アメリカとスウェーデンの一戦だ。私のほか、数人の男性が足を止めて試合をしばらく見ていた。
バスで私が向かったのは、スコーミッシュ（Squamish）だ。バンクーバーからおよそ60km離れた場所にある、小さな町だ。友人がこの街に住んでおり、私はその家に数日間泊まらせてもらう。
今日町をざっくりと歩いて、印象に残ったのは「山」だ。大きな岩壁を持つ山が、異様な存在感を放っている。どうやらスコーミッシュの名所らしく、スタワマス・チーフ（Stawamus Chief）というそうだ。
On Wednesday, February 18th, 2026, I got up around 6:00 a.m. PST and took a bus from downtown Vancouver.
While waiting for the bus, I stayed in a food court with a TV and watched a hockey game between the United States and Sweden at the Olympic Games. A few other men there also seemed interested in the broadcast.
The bus took me to Squamish, which is approximately 60 km from Vancouver. It was my first time visiting Squamish, and a friend of mine who lives there let me stay at her house for the next few days. Before starting my exploration the next day, I walked around the town that evening.
What stood out to me about the town was a mountain I saw while walking. It is a uniquely shaped mountain with large rock cliffs. Apparently, it is a well-known landmark called Stawamus Chief.
